Job summary

MTrec Technical are representing an engineering client in Newcastle for an Interim Engineering Manager role lasting 3–6 months. The ideal candidate will lead both engineering and maintenance functions, ensuring continuity of operations while driving improvements and cost control in a high-paced FMCG environment.

The role requires prior experience in FMCG or Food & packaging manufacturing, familiarity with BRC audits, and availability to start with short notice.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Engineering Manager within FMCG, Food & Drink or Food Packaging manufacturing.
• Experience managing BRC audits and adhering to relevant standards.
• Available to start with little notice.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a smooth continuation of engineering operations over the 3–6 month period.
• Lead the engineering and maintenance function.
• Support with BRC and internal audits.
• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Deliver preventative maintenance and continuous improvement programmes.
• Manage engineering projects and capital investments.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and health & safety regulations.
• Support production to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Develop engineering teams while controlling budgets and driving operational excellence.
