Job summary

Whitworths Ltd in Irthlingborough is seeking a Hygiene Operative to maintain clean, safe, and audit-ready facilities at our site. The role covers factories, warehouses, offices and outdoor areas with attention to detail as a core requirement.

You will complete daily to periodic cleaning, support reactive cleaning, manage waste and laundry, and keep hygiene records in line with health and safety procedures. Experience in food manufacturing is a plus, not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled daily, weekly and periodic cleaning across the site.
• Assist with reactive cleaning when needed.
• Collect and segregate site waste.
• Manage daily laundry requirements and litter-picking duties.
• Complete hygiene records accurately and on time.
• Follow all food safety, personal hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Support customer visits and external audits.
• Collaborate with Hygiene, Operations and Supply Chain colleagues to keep operations smooth.

About The Role

Hygiene Operative

At Whitworths, quality starts long before our products reach the shelves. We’re looking for a reliable, energetic Hygiene Operative to help keep our Irthlingborough site clean, safe and ready to deliver—every day.

This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail matters. From our factories and warehouses to offices, facilities and outdoor areas, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining the high standards our people, customers and auditors expect.

What you’ll be doing

• Completing scheduled daily, weekly and periodic cleaning across the site
• Supporting with reactive cleaning when extra help is needed
• Collecting, segregating site waste
• Managing daily laundry requirements and litter‑picking duties
• Completing hygiene records accurately and on time
• Following all food safety, personal hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Supporting customer visits and external audits
• Working closely with colleagues across Hygiene, Operations and Supply Chain to keep things running smoothly
