Job summary

Capita plc is recruiting for a cleaning operative in a police facility in Great Yarmouth. You will perform daily and emergency cleaning across Core Custody Areas, maintaining high hygiene standards with a focus on minimal disruption to operations.

The role reports to the Site Manager and requires practical, hands-on cleaning skills. The position is 28 hours per week (Mon & Fri 8h; Tue–Thu 4h each), with a temporary contract and an annual salary of £18,782.40.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with initiative.
• Ability to work under direct supervision when required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily, general and emergency cleaning across the facility to agreed standards.
• Plan work within core hours to maintain high standards with minimal disruption.
• Collect waste and take to designated collection points within the facility boundary.
• Keep soap dispensers, towels and supplies replenished.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is in good working order and used safely.
• Monitor stocks and arrange replenishment through the Site Manager.
