Job summary

Capita plc and Tascor are seeking a cleaning operative at the Police Investigation Centre in Great Yarmouth. You will perform daily and emergency cleaning across Core Custody Areas, follow site procedures and health & safety rules, and work 28 hours per week under a temporary contract.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll be part of a small team, maintain high standards of hygiene and order, and adapt to varied tasks while minimising disruption to operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow supervision.
• Ability to work in physically demanding cleaning role.
• Ability to follow health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily, general and emergency cleaning across the facility, including Core Custody Areas, toilets and welfare areas.
• Plan your work within core hours, maintaining high standards and minimising disruption.
• Collect waste and general rubbish to designated collection points.
• Replenish soap dispensers and towels and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Check cleaning equipment, use appliances safely and according to instructions.
• Monitor stocks and arrange replenishment or maintenance through the Site Manager.
• Report faults and issues to your line manager promptly.
• Follow Norfolk and Suffolk Police Authority procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Store cleaning supplies safely and support energy-saving measures.
• Be flexible and assist with occasional additional tasks as required.
