The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Facilities Technician to deliver a reliable janitorial service across our estate, ensuring buildings are safe and welcoming for work or learning.

This permanent role offers flexible hours with a 12-hour weekly pattern, pro-rata for part-time, and provides a pension scheme, paid annual leave, and opportunities to progress within a trusted employer.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, including small repairs and general maintenance
• Support moves and conduct basic security functions
• Perform reactive cleaning and grounds maintenance as required
• Maintain equipment, furniture and fittings to ensure safe, functional premises
• Assist with building services and security of premises and grounds

Salary: £27,257 - £29,850(pro-rata for part-time)

Hours: 12 per week, 52 weeks

Working pattern for position is:

• Monday to Thursday 10am - 12:30pm
• Friday 10am - 12:00pm

You'll deliver a vital janitorial service across our estate to ensure our properties are a safe places to workor learn in. MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES

You will undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, ranging from small repairs and general maintenance to reactive cleaning, supporting moves and conducting basic security functions.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
