Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Casual Facilities Assistant based at Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre. You will deliver janitorial services across our estate, performing basic maintenance, security checks and responsive cleaning to keep properties safe for staff and learners.

Casual Facilities Assistant
Location: Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032
Hours: Flexible as Required

As a Facilities Assistant with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital janitorial service across our estate to ensure our properties are a safe place to work or learn in. MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES

You will undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, ranging from small repairs and general maintenance to reactive cleaning, supporting moves and conducting basic security functions.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
