Job summary

Amey is recruiting a permanent Facilities Team Leader to join our team at HMP Frankland, Brasside, Durham. The role supports operational delivery within a high-security public estate and offers exposure to critical public service environments.

You will lead a small team across shift patterns on a 39-hour week, on a rota including weekends (1 in 3) with a 15% shift allowance. A background in facilities management, health and safety, and stakeholder engagement is essential.

• Understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance.

• Experience in facilities, estates or property management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of facilities management services, ensuring operational excellence and contractual compliance.

• Build effective relationships with HMPPS stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring service requirements are met.
• Monitor performance and support the continuous improvement of service delivery standards.
• Provide guidance and direction to operational teams, helping to create a positive and productive working environment.
• Escalate risks, issues and opportunities promptly, ensuring swift resolution and effective communication with management teams.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Facilities Team Leader to join our team at HMP Frankland, Brasside, Durham (DH1 5YD). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career within a critical public service environment.

Hours: 39 hours per week

Working on a rota basis, shifts are scheduled between:

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 - 16:00

The role includes working 1 in 3 weekends, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment while remaining calm under pressure.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance requirements and operational best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Confident IT user with experience of facilities management systems and reporting tools.
• Previous experience within facilities, estates or property management environments.
• Facilities Management qualifications and/or IOSH certification would be advantageous.
• Experience using Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems is desirable.
