Amey is seeking a General Building Maintenance Operative at HMP Manchester for a permanent role. You will join a on-site facilities team, performing general maintenance tasks and assisting tradespeople to ensure the prison estate runs safely and efficiently.
The role requires a proactive handyman with DIY experience, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team. Applicants must be able to obtain Prison Security Clearance including DBS and CTC.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent General Building Operative in HMP Manchester, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH.
The base salary is £28,792.
The standard hours of work are 39 per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00 - 16:00, and there will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary). You will also be required to be part of an on call rota.
