Job summary

Amey Ltd is recruiting a Permanent Facilities Team Leader for the NRS Harwell site (404 Rutherford Avenue). The role oversees day-to-day facilities operations, health and safety, and client relationships within a nuclear restoration account. 37 hours weekly, with a 9-day fortnight shift pattern and BPSS check.

Willingness to travel by car is required due to limited public transport. The ideal candidate has facilities/estate management experience, IOSH qualification, and familiarity with CAFM

Qualifications

  • Experience in facilities/estate management.
  • Facilities Management qualifications advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance.
  • IT literate and able to work with CAFM systems.
  • Team management and ability to work with engineers and clients.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

  • Liaise with management to meet and manage expectations.
  • Support zero carbon programmes and strategic lean initiatives.
  • Ensure H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Facilities Team leader to come and join our team on our Nuclear Restoration services account in NRS Harwell - 404 Rutherford Avenue

The standard hours of work are 37 hours (The shift pattern we do is a 9 Day fortnight week 1 is Monday = Thursday 7.45am to 5pm Friday 7.45am 12 am, week 2 is Monday to Thursday 7.45am = 5pm Friday off)

With previous experience in facilities/estate management, you will be confident overseeing day-to-day site operations and supporting a safe, compliant and well-maintained environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate reliability and responsibility, and excel at developing strong working relationships with on-site clients and employees. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as there is limited public transport to the site. What you will do

  • Assist in and supervise the delivery of a range of electrical services to the site in line with contractual commitments. Compliance focused.
  • Help to maintain standards as set out in the Service Level Agreement.
  • Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution.
  • Ensure the health, safety and security of staff, contractors, premises, and equipment by encouraging and monitoring best practices at all times.
  • Check and sign timesheets in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure all requirements are met through liaising with management to receive and manage expectations.
  • This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

What makes this role unique is you will ensure all compliance and safety in the establishment is met, building a strong relationship with the client.

What you will bring

  • Previous experience of working within the Facilities/Estate management arena.
  • Facilities Management qualifications are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance.
  • IT Literate.
  • Team management, working on own initiative, understand deadlines and priority.
  • Management of engineers, dealing with customer and client.
  • Driving license.

Ideally you will be qualified in IOSH with experience in Facilities Management.

In addition, it is desirable that you have experience using Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems, enabling you to quickly become effective in the role. However, this is not essential, as we will provide the training and development required to bring you up to speed.
