Job summary

Amey is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join the National Highways Account at South Mimms. The role is on site with a 42-hour week, operating on a 4 days on/4 days off shift pattern (7:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00).

The salary is £15.19 per hour, with responsibilities including reception, sign-in, calls, and daily site readiness. You will support the Facilities Management team, ensure safety procedures are followed, and contribute to keeping one of Europe’s busiest road networks safe and

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly and professional reception service for visitors, contractors and staff.
• Manage visitor sign-in procedures and ensure all guests are welcomed appropriately.
• Answer and direct telephone calls, emails and general enquiries.
• Carry out daily building opening and procedures, including unlocking the premises and ensuring the site is ready for staff and visitors.
• Complete routine building checks and report any issues or concerns.
• Monitor building systems and report any alerts or faults to the Facilities Management team.
• Raise maintenance requests and assist with tracking progress.
• Support contractors and visitors while they are on site.
• Assist the Facilities Management team with the smooth day-to-day operation of the building.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and help maintain a safe working environment.

The salary is£15.19 per hour

The hours of work will be 42 hours per week: 4 days on 4 days off, shift pattern will be 7:00am - 7:00pm OR 7:00pm - 7:00am

Amey provides comprehensive facilities and estate management services for National Highways including maintenance, cleaning, and project management.

We collaborate with clients, staff, and partners to ensure our 24/7 service maintains high standards with minimal disruption, keeping one of Europe's busiest road networks safe and operational.

What you will do:

• Provide a friendly and professional reception service for visitors, contractors and staff.
