About the role

As Facilities Supervisor, I am responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of a 300 acre site, consisting of terminal buildings, offices, hangers, x-ray/baggage assets and a train station. My goal is to ensure that the site operates seamlessly each day.

You’re probably thinking “so what is it I will actually be doing day to day?” well….

1. I will be responsible for the management of the engineers in the facilities team, ensuring that they have the support and resources to succeed in their role.
2. I will be responsible for maintaining the statutory compliance of all airport assets.
3. I will manage projects and works, ensuring they are delivered safely and successfully.
4. I will be responsible for ensuring that all works the facilities team are completing are appropriately communicated to the correct channels.
5. I will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong working relationships with all third-party contractors.
6. I will be responsible for managing all facilities contracts, ensuring that service level agreements are met. I will play a key role in the tender management process.
7. I will be responsible for maintaining the detailed register of the airport’s assets, including associated drawings, schematics, commissioning and maintenance reports.
8. I will be the authorised responsible person for asbestos management site wide.
9. I will be the Deputy Nominated Responsible person for L8 management throughout the site.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This role is crucial in ensuring our airport operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely. We are looking for the successful candidate to have key knowledge and experience, if you possess the below you have everything required to excel in this position:

1. Level 3 technical qualification in building services, engineering or equivalent or hold relevant work experience.
2. Supervisory experience.
3. IOSH/NEBOSH General certificate.
4. Experience in creating both Risk and COSHH assessments.
5. Experience in raising and working under permits.
