Reporting to: Facilities Manager

Gloucester's Facilities Service Operator plays a vital role in ensuring all site infrastructure and systems perform as expected to meet site requirements. These systems support the heating of workplaces and water treatment processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain the safe operation of main industrial steam boilers and associated equipment following site procedures and regulations.
  • Manage effluent treatment processes according to site standards.
  • Operate and control electroplating wastewater recycling plants.
  • Conduct testing and lab analysis of effluent and water samples.
  • Safely isolate steam, gas, compressed air, and water systems.
  • Diagnose faults and service mechanical systems.
  • Inspect tooling and equipment, perform health and safety inspections, and manage stock control.
  • Respond to spills and maintain chemical awareness.
  • Perform basic administrative duties related to the role.
Qualifications and Skills

Essential technical skills include knowledge of plant maintenance, health, safety, environmental issues, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Desirable skills include BOAS and forklift operation training, first aid certification, and analytical problem-solving abilities.

Behavioral competencies include teamwork, effective communication, decision-making, interpersonal skills, adaptability, initiative, results orientation, and punctuality.
