Job summary

Synergi Search & Select is assisting a global FMCG manufacturer to appoint a Facilities Project Engineer to lead planning, delivery and completion of facility projects in a manufacturing environment.

You will manage capital and revenue projects, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance programmes and equipment installations, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to required quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Recognised project management qualification.
  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering projects in facilities/site services/manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance.
  • Experience managing budgets and project plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and contractor supervision.
  • Analytical, planning, communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Proactive approach to compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage complex technical projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facility improvement, infrastructure and equipment installation projects from concept through to completion.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, resources and delivery against agreed objectives.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure work is completed safely and to required standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and develop action plans.
  • Review drawings, specifications and construction plans.
  • Support equipment commissioning, validation and start-up activities.
  • Develop feasibility studies, equipment specifications, supplier selection and budget plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility performance and energy efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate project, audit, permit and compliance documentation.
  • Work closely with Engineering, EHS, Manufacturing, Quality and other stakeholders.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Project Engineer to lead the planning, delivery and completion of facility-related projects within a manufacturing environment. You will manage Capital and Revenue projects, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance programmes and equipment installations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead facility improvement, infrastructure and equipment installation projects from concept through to completion.

  • Review technical drawings, specifications and construction plans.

  • Maintain accurate project, audit, permit and compliance documentation.

  • Work closely with Engineering, EHS, Manufacturing, Quality and other key stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Recognised project management qualification.

  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification.

  • Proven experience managing projects within a facilities/site services and manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and legal compliance.

  • Experience managing budgets, project plans and financial frameworks.

  • Strong stakeholder management and contractor supervision skills.

  • Excellent analytical, planning, communication and decision-making abilities.

  • A proactive approach to compliance, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

  • The ability to manage complex technical projects effectively within time and budget constraints.

Desirable Skills:
  • 5+ years' experience delivering facility upgrades, infrastructure projects and equipment installations.

  • Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments.

  • Hands-on knowledge of building systems and site infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution and mechanical systems.

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience with equipment commissioning and validation.

  • Familiarity with project management software and relevant IT systems.
