Job summary

Gregory Walker Associates is seeking a Facilities Manager for a major UK food manufacturing group in North Dorset. The role focuses on maintaining essential site equipment and coordinating maintenance programmes to keep the operation running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include managing steam and HVAC systems, water and electrical infrastructure, and working with energy/emissions initiatives. Proven experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified in an engineering discipline with maintenance experience in an FMCG facility.
• Experience maintaining facilities equipment and managing contractors.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for steam boilers and factory steam distribution system, compressed air equipment and distribution system, chilling and HVAC equipment, building and external area maintenance, site water systems, fixed electrical wiring infrastructure.
• Support for reducing the site's carbon footprint, energy/emissions initiatives and carbon reduction projects.
• Manage reactive and planned maintenance with the site Engineering team, managing facilities equipment contractors and control facilities maintenance spend.
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager, complying with and enforcing food safety/quality, health & safety and environmental policies.

Overview

As Facilities Manager, you will keep the site's most precious and important equipment up-and-running. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the maintenance and improvement of the site's kit.

The Role

• Be accountable for Steam boilers and factory steam distribution system, Compressed air equipment and distribution system, Chilling and HVAC equipment, Building and external area maintenance, Site water systems, Fixed electrical wiring infrastructure, etc.
• Support for reducing the site's carbon footprint, working with SHE and Technical managers on energy/emissions initiatives and championing engineering-led carbon reduction projects
• Manage reactive and planned maintenance with the site Engineering team, managing facilities equipment contractors and control facilities maintenance spend.
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager, complying with and enforce food safety/quality, health & safety and environmental policies

The Candidate
