Job summary

Sackville School in East Grinstead seeks a proactive Premises Officer to join our dedicated Premises Team. You will help maintain a safe, welcoming school environment, perform basic repairs, and support site operations across rotating shifts from early morning to evenings.

Salary ranges £26,784–£27,642 depending on experience. This full-time post requires flexibility with shifts, guards during school events, and adherence to health and safety and safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance and basic repairs
• Ability to work across site routines and shifts
• Knowledge of health and safety practices in school environments

Responsibilities

• Maintain site security and unlock/lock procedures
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
• Support cleaning, waste management and porterage tasks
• Coordinate with external contractors and hirers
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety policies
