Job summary

Local Education is building a dedicated bank of Facilities and Premises Assistants to support schools and education settings throughout Essex. Roles are temporary/flexible, with varied school-based shifts and ad hoc assignments to cover sickness or longer placements.

• General premises support and upkeep.

• Move equipment and furniture between spaces.
• Supervise contractors on site.
• Health and safety checks and compliance.
• Manage deliveries and stock movement.
• Grounds support and outdoor area care.
• Open and close buildings as required.

This could suit someone who has previously worked within facilities, maintenance, estates, security or property services and is looking for flexible temporary work.

You do not necessarily need previous school experience.

What matters is that you are dependable, practical, professional and comfortable working within an environment where safeguarding and safety are taken seriously.

Work may be available on an ad hoc basis, for short-term sickness cover or as longer temporary placements.
