Job summary

Air Liquide invites applications for an experienced Facility Manager at our Energas site in Smethwick, Birmingham. You will lead daily operations, champion a strong safety culture, and work with the Sales team to grow gas and hardgoods revenue.

The role requires proven leadership in a distribution environment, with strong communication skills to motivate a team and ensure exceptional customer service. A full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching others in a management or supervisory position.
• 5+ years experience in distribution planning and order scheduling.
• Good standard of numeracy and literacy; awareness of quality systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of ISO9002 is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in fast-paced distribution with focus on customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate daily branch, yard, store, and trade counter operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.
• Manage local purchasing, inventory control systems, and stock counts.
• Act as a primary key holder for branch security and cash management.
• Enforce Safety, Health, and Environment policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage fleet operations and liaise with Sales to drive revenue targets.
• Recruit, train, and develop branch personnel; lead a collaborative team.
• Schedule staffing and drive employee engagement.
