This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality facilities services across a diverse portfolio of council buildings and community spaces. You will help ensure our properties are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, enabling staff, customers, and communities to thrive.
As a Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations undertaken in council buildings, ensuring excellent standards of service delivery and statutory compliance. Working closely with colleagues, contractors, customers, and stakeholders, you will contribute to the efficient management of facilities services across the city.
You will be involved in a wide variety of activities including staff and resource development and control building inspections, contractor management, health and safety monitoring, customer liaison, and supporting planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
We are looking for someone who:
A relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Health and Safety, or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
