Job summary

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager in Knaresborough. This hands-on, site-based role is a temporary 3-month contract with a pay rate of 24.62 p/h, starting ASAP.

The position is based on site in Knaresborough HG5 0SD, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. You will support safe, efficient and compliant facilities management, coordinate contractors, oversee CMMS records, and maintain high standards across the site, working with Operations and Maintenance teams to prioritise

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management or Building Services.
• Experience coordinating maintenance and contractors.
• Understanding of Health & Safety laws and environmental compliance.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise a varied workload.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and maintenance/asset systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day facilities operation across the site to maintain high standards.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance and keep CMMS records up to date.
• Oversee service contracts including cleaning, pest control, waste and PPE.
• Monitor site assets and access control, radios, gas monitors and RPE.
• Coordinate statutory inspections and compliance activities (Legionella, surface water, weather station).
• Deliver small improvement projects outside the Maintenance team scope.
• Promote housekeeping standards and support HSEQ compliance.

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager Knaresborough

Pay rate: 24.62 p/h

Site based role - Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm

This is a hands-on temporary assignment supporting the safe, efficient and compliant management of our site facilities, infrastructure and support services. You'll work closely with our Operations and Maintenance teams, taking ownership of day-to-day facilities priorities, coordinating contractors and compliance activities, and helping us maintain high standards across the site.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the day-to-day facilities operation across the site, ensuring buildings, grounds and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard.
• Coordinate planned and reactive facilities maintenance and ensure records are accurate and up to date within our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Manage and coordinate service contracts including cleaning, pest control, waste collection, PPE and other site support services.
• Oversee site assets including access control systems, two-way radios, gas monitors, respiratory protective equipment (RPE), lockers and security passes.
• Coordinate statutory inspections and compliance activities, including Legionella management, surface water sampling, weather station inspections and site meter monitoring.
• Coordinate reactive facilities requirements and deliver small improvement projects outside the scope of the Maintenance team.
• Monitor the condition of buildings, structures, handrails, walkways, cladding and external areas, coordinating repairs where required.
• Promote excellent housekeeping standards across the site and support Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance.

What we're looking for

Essential

• Previous experience in Facilities Management or Building Services Management.
• Experience managing contractors and coordinating maintenance or facilities-related activities.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and environmental compliance.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to quickly prioritise a varied workload.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance or asset management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• The confidence to build effective working relationships quickly with operational teams, colleagues and external contractors.
