Job summary

Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham-by-Sea is seeking a committed Facilities Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, safety, and compliance of the venue. The role supports events, manages contractors, and contributes to a sustainable programme for the arts centre.

The post is a permanent, 30-hour-per-week role with mornings and some evenings, offering involvement in a flagship community venue that hosts live events and a diverse range of activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, caretaking, facilities or similar hands-on role.
• Ability to supervise internal teams and manage third-party service providers.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and building compliance.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for Centre premises, maintenance, insurance, rating, lease compliance and service charges.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance and a safe environment for staff, volunteers, visitors and performers.
• Coordinate contractors, supervise external vendors, and support project work including refurbishment.
• Manage budgets, vendor rates, and energy-saving opportunities.
