Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Hard Services Manager to lead compliance and maintenance in a complex manufacturing setting. You will oversee electrical and mechanical systems, drive proactive maintenance, and ensure safe operations across facilities.

You will manage contractor permits for high-risk work, coordinate with stakeholders, and support remediation and planning activities. CIBSE qualifications and a strong facilities background are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experienced Hard Services Manager in complex facilities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Desirable qualifications such as CIBSE.
• Experience in R&D or advanced manufacturing buildings.
• Facilities and building maintenance background.
• Experience with record keeping and compliance.
• Proven ability to issue contractor permits for high-risk work.

Responsibilities

• Support Compliance Activities - LEV, fire safety, legionella; assess and drive improvements.
• Review heating and chilled water systems; drive remedial actions through to completion.
• Assist with project planning as needed.
• Support asset replacement scheduling towards proactive maintenance.
• Assist process and procedure capability development.
• Contractor/vendor management.
• Manage work permits for high-risk work.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Compliance Activities - Building LEV (local exhaust ventilation), fire safety, legionella - assessing current stage and driving what needs to support continuous development. Problem analysis and solutions.
• Review heating systems, chilled water systems, driving remedial actions through to completion.
• Support project planning activities as needed
• Asset replacement schedule - support a move to proactive maintenance.
• Supporting process and procedure capability development.
• Contractor/Vendor Management
• Management of work permits for high-risk work.

Key Candidate Requirements:

• Experienced Hard Services Manager - "been there done that".
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems commonly found in complex/advanced manufacturing facilities. Relevant qualifications would be desirable. For example, CIBSE.
• R&D or Advanced Manufacturing Building experience.
• Facilities & Building Maintenance background.
• Record keeping experience
• Demonstratable experience issuing contractor permits for high-risk activities. E.g work at height.
• Good communication & stakeholder management skills
