A leading school in Wedmore is looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee the management of health and safety on their premises. The role involves working with contractors and ensuring the site is maintained to high standards. SALARY: Grade 12 Pt 12-19 (£27,711 - £31,067 per annum)
HOURS OF WORK: 37 hrs per week - All year round
START DATE: As soon as possible
Hugh Sexey Church of England Middle School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, and energetic Premises Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the management of Health & Safety of our Building, Swimming Pool and site. This is a very varied, interesting role and plays an integral part of the school’s support system. You will be representing the school when dealing with contractors, suppliers and lettings.
Candidates will need to demonstrate:
• Has a strong background in premises management, maintenance and DIY
• Has patient and a calm demeanour
• Is positive, forward thinking and willing to “go the extra mile” and is supportive of colleagues
• Has a good level of general education (including Maths & English GCSE Grade A-C (4+) or equivalent)
• Has a flexible and proactive approach to their work
• Excellent organisational, administrative skills, able to prioritise work, meet deadlines and multi-task
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Can implement Health & Safety legislation and risk assessments
• Is able to carry out non-specialist building maintenance and essential gardening duties
• Is organised and can plan, arrange and manage the work of contractors
• Always maintains confidentiality
• Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team
• Consistent in a calm and fair approach
• Someone who can ensure the school site is maintained to a high standard.
