Job description

If you are someone who is really looking for something to get your teeth into and are all about getting things done……..this one’s for you.

This isn’t a role where everything is already polished and running perfectly. It’s a site that needs bringing back up to standard. The kind of place where the basics matter, where people notice when things aren’t right, and where the right person can make a visible difference quickly.

You will be stepping into a role with real ownership. Not just managing contractors or ticking boxes, but actually taking control of how the site operates day to day. Fixing what needs fixing, improving what’s there, and helping shape how the facility supports the business as it continues to grow.

There is genuine investment going into the site, with improvements already underway and more planned. There isn’t a fully defined structure in place, so this is an opportunity to build how facilities should operate going forward, putting the right processes, standards and support in place for the long term.

You will also play a key role in how the site evolves, supporting future growth and ensuring the facility is fit for what’s coming next.

What you will be doing:

  • Taking full ownership of facilities across the site

  • Getting on top of day-to-day issues and improving site standards

  • Managing building services and utilities including HVAC, electrical and general infrastructure

  • Coordinating contractors and ensuring safe systems of work

  • Supporting and coordinating both reactive and preventative maintenance to ensure asset reliability and minimal downtime

  • Working closely with operations to minimise disruption and support manufacturing activity

  • Overseeing site services including general facilities and workplace areas

  • Supporting health & safety compliance, audits and risk assessments

  • Contributing to site improvements, upgrades and ongoing development projects

  • Introducing structure, processes and more effective ways of working

  • Working with a long-standing workforce, bringing people with you as standards are improved and changes are introduced

  • Supporting site response where required, including shared on-call responsibility over time

What we need from you:

  • Experience in facilities, engineering or site services within a manufacturing environment

  • A hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in where needed

  • Strong experience managing contractors and external service providers

  • Good understanding of building services and site infrastructure

  • Health & safety knowledge (NEBOSH or similar would be ideal)

  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload

  • Confident communicator who can work across teams and influence when needed

  • Someone comfortable taking ownership in a standalone site role

  • A practical mindset with a focus on getting things done properly

What you can expect in return:

  • Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience

  • Company benefits package (details available on request)
