Job Title: Facilities Manager

Location: Oak Tree School, Truro, TR4 9NH

Salary: GBP37,500 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 42.5 Hours per week; Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, security, and day-to-day operations of our buildings and grounds. The Facilities Manager will ensure that our work environment is safe, functional, and efficient, supporting both our staff and pupils.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the facilities team and supervise planned and responsible repair programmes, domestic tasks, and catering duties as service demands.
• Ensure high standards of facilities and that the facilities team fulfills their responsibilities.
• Coordinate capital and operational expenditure areas.
• Monitor and audit work schedules and project quality.
• Liaise with external providers to ensure cost-effective contracts.
• Prioritize and organize workload for all responsibilities.
• Manage on-call/out-of-hours response rotas and be part of the on-call team.
• Maximize economy and efficiency in all works.
• Ensure risk assessments and procedures are in place according to standards.
• Support the team with issues related to Health and Safety, food hygiene, fire management, and building legislation.
• Develop maintenance programs for responsive, cyclical, and planned works.
