Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking a Facilities Manager to support the delivery of FM services across a varied commercial property portfolio in the North West and North Wales. You will work with occupiers, contractors and clients to ensure properties are well managed, compliant with legislation and maintained to high standards.

This 6-month fixed-term contract may extend or become permanent, offering a pathway into a respected property consultancy and asset management environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing contractors and service providers in a commercial property setting.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Experience budgeting and contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high level of facilities management across a commercial portfolio.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, tenants and stakeholders.
  • Manage contractor performance and service delivery across sites.
  • Support procurement and management of facilities-related contracts.
  • Oversee maintenance activities and ensure works meet standards.
  • Monitor compliance requirements and assist with statutory obligations.
  • Maintain accurate property records and admin processes.
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control and service charge expenditure.
  • Support customer service initiatives and resolve property issues.
  • Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with surveyors, contractors and suppliers for operational needs.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Provide regular reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support business objectives through facilities and asset management.

Facilities Manager Our client is a well-established property and asset management business with a long-standing reputation for delivering professional property services across the North West of England and North Wales.

Managing a diverse commercial property portfolio, the organisation provides high levels of customer service, asset management and facilities support to a broad range of clients.

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Manager to join their Property & Asset Management team based in Chester.

Your new role As Facilities Manager, you will support the delivery of facilities management services across a varied commercial property portfolio throughout the North West and North Wales.

You will work closely with occupiers, contractors and clients to ensure properties are managed effectively, compliant with legislation and maintained to a high standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Facilities professional looking to develop their career within a highly respected property consultancy and asset management environment.

The role is initial on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract.

However, the role will likely be extended and potentially transition into a permanent contract.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver a high level of facilities management service across a commercial property portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tenants and stakeholders.
  • Manage contractor performance and service delivery across multiple sites.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Office, Retail or Industrial Experience managing contractors, maintenance activities and service providers.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Experience working within a commercial property environment would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of budgeting, contract management and business processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Good IT and reporting skills.
  • BIFM/IWFM accreditation or equivalent FM qualification would be advantageous.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
