Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland at Skelmersdale is seeking a Business Support Technician to maintain site facilities and support compliance activities. You will handle reactive repairs, help with building services and support improvements across the site.

The role requires hands-on maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and safety processes, with a focus on practical, first-fix solutions and steady collaboration with teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in facilities, building services or property maintenance.
• Experience with general building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting).
• Solid understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective first-fix repairs.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Good communication across departments and proactive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs and general maintenance across the site.
• Support site compliance activities including contractor control, permit-to-work, Legionella management and statutory inspections.
• Maintain building fabric, plumbing, drainage and basic electrical systems.
• Assist water hygiene, energy efficiency and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Maintain external site areas including grounds, drainage and guttering.
• Use hand and power tools safely for maintenance tasks.
• Support stock control and maintenance materials management.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and keep accurate records.
• Assist with refurbishment projects, deep cleans, office moves and facility improvements.
• Support pest-proofing and other site quality initiatives.
