Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland is seeking a Business Support Technician at our Skelmersdale site to maintain facilities, support compliance, and ensure a safe, well-maintained working environment for colleagues.

You will perform reactive repairs, maintain plumbing/electrical systems, support PPM, and assist with refurbishment projects, deep cleans, and office moves. The role offers a competitive salary, annual bonus, pension, and 25 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out maintenance, repairs and building services activities within an industrial, manufacturing or commercial environment.
• NVQ in Plumbing or a relevant trade qualification would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs and general maintenance across the site.
• Support site compliance activities, including contractor control, permit-to-work systems, Legionella management and statutory inspections.
• Maintain building fabric, plumbing, drainage and basic electrical systems.
• Support water hygiene, energy efficiency and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Maintain external site areas, including grounds, drainage and guttering.
• Use hand and power tools safely to complete maintenance and improvement tasks.
• Support stock control and management of maintenance materials.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with refurbishment projects, deep cleans, office moves and facility improvements.
• Support pest-proofing activities and other site quality initiatives.

Do you have experience carrying out maintenance, repairs and building services activities within an industrial, manufacturing or commercial environment?, Previous experience in a facilities, building services, maintenance or property maintenance role.
• NVQ in Plumbing or a relevant trade qualification would be advantageous.
• Experience carrying out general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating tasks.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) principles.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective first-fix repairs.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
