Job summary

Willowbrook Care Home in Birmingham is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the home safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times. This hands-on role covers repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep to ensure equipment and systems work reliably.

Working independently and with the team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach; reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.
• Work independently and alongside the wider team, follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised environment.
