Job summary

Clarence Park Care Home in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our Victorian townhouse premises safe, comfortable and well maintained for up to 43 residents in a specialist complex care setting.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks, including general repairs, electrical checks and fittings, and respond promptly to issues to support planned maintenance while following health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities or similar role.
• Basic repairs, electrical and building maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems.
• Proactive, practical problem solver.
• Reliable, organised and able to work in a care environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance across building and grounds.
• Perform basic electrical checks, repairs and installations.
• Ensure equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to issues and support planned maintenance.
• Work independently and with the team, following health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.
