Job summary

Pin Point Recruitment is seeking a reliable Caretaker to join a single-site operation in Croydon, South London, a large commercial, warehouse and distribution centre. The role is on-site, with a 40-hour week (Monday to Friday) and pay of £17-£19 per hour.

Duties include routine maintenance, minor installations and general repairs to keep the building safe and functional. Tasks cover plumbing, electrical, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, and general upkeep such as clearing gutters

Qualifications

• Hands-on background in general building maintenance or multi-trade repair.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools (drills, saws, levels, etc.).
• Good customer service skills and the ability to log completed jobs or report major defects.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance, minor installations, and general repairs to keep our client's building safe and functional.
• Plumbing: Fix leaky taps, unclog sinks or toilets, and install basic bathroom or kitchen fixtures.
• Electrical: Replace lightbulbs, change switches or outlets, and install smoke alarms or doorbells (minor, non-certified work).
• Carpentry & Joinery: Repair or re-hang doors, fix cabinets, install shelving, and handle general wood repairs.
• Painting & Decorating: Touch up paint, paint walls and ceilings, fill cracks, and handle plaster patching or wallpaper repairs.
• General Upkeep: Clear gutters, assemble furniture, hang pictures, and manage basic indoor/outdoor maintenance.
