Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a proactive Facilities Assistant to maintain Fieldstone School sites in Ashburton and Newton Abbot. You’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance, help keep buildings, grounds and equipment in top condition, and support safety checks on site.

You’ll work as part of the facilities team, be organised, reliable and able to manage priorities, with UK driving licence required; previous maintenance experience is valued.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English at level 4 or above.
• Experience in general maintenance, repairs or a relevant trade.
• Understands health and safety practices, including COSHH regulations.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is organised, reliable and able to manage priorities effectively.
• Has good problem-solving, communication and basic IT skills.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and refurbishment tasks across the site.
• Maintain buildings, grounds, equipment and plant to a high standard.
• Complete regular site inspections and support health and safety compliance, including fire safety checks.
• Assist with specialist maintenance work and liaise with contractors when required.
• Keep maintenance records up to date and ensure tools and equipment are used and stored safely.
• Support the wider facilities team, including participation in the on‑call rota when required.
