Job summary

Ambassador Theatre Group is seeking a Head of Maintenance to lead the maintenance team across our venues. The role is hands-on, ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest standard and safe for staff and customers, while supervising staff and coordinating with contractors.

You will work with the Technical & Building Manager to ensure compliance, safety policies, and effective day-to-day operations, including COSHH and plant room management, with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on maintenance experience across trades (carpentry, plumbing, painting).
• Experience managing maintenance staff and coordinating tasks.
• Knowledge of health and safety, fire safety, and compliance in a busy venue.
• Experience with building plant, machinery, equipment and services.

Responsibilities

• Ensure venue is presented to the highest standard and safe for staff and customers.
• Act as Duty Person and building keyholder, investigate alarm conditions.
• Manage planned and routine preventative maintenance across the building and services.
• Supervise on-site contractors and coordinate with the Maintenance Technician and casual staff.
• Program Building Management System schedules and source contractor quotes.
• Ensure paperwork, COSHH records, and records for plant rooms are up to date.
