Job summary

Amey invites applications for a permanent General Building Maintenance Engineer based at HMP Haverigg, Millom. You will maintain safety systems and building services across the site, ensuring reliable operation of security, electrical and water systems.

The role covers CCTV, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and temperature testing, with weekend on a rota and 15% allowance. The base salary is £28,792 to £31,792, and the standard 39-hour week offers career stability with opportunities within

Qualifications

• Experience in Fire Door Maintenance.
• Experience in Fire Extinguisher Maintenance.
• Experience in Fire Alarm Core Points.
• Experience in Emergency Lighting.
• Experience in RCD.
• Experience Water Temperature Testing.
• Experience in/exposure to building and system compliance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general tasks associated with security systems such as CCTV and alarm systems.
• Carry out monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, with regular checks on fire hydrants and fire hoses.
• Carry out checks on Misting Units.
• Conduct flushing and tap temperature tests as required by the water risk assessment.
• Undertake monthly and annual emergency lighting checks.
• Check and test smoke vents as required.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.
