Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer in Walsall to maintain buildings, equipment and infrastructure, ensuring safety and reliability. You’ll handle planned and reactive maintenance, support site operations and contribute to national defence and security objectives.

You will join a flexible, supportive team with a focus on continuous improvement, safety, and clear documentation. The role requires SC/NPPV eligibility and offers a structured 39-hour week with early starts.

Qualifications

• Basic Health and Safety awareness
• Strong fault-finding capability
• Good IT skills and willingness to learn business systems

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance across site facilities.
• Respond to breakdowns and fault-finding; restore systems quickly.
• Maintain tools, equipment, assets, grounds, and housekeeping.
• Coordinate activities with contractors and provide safe site access.
• Update maintenance records and follow HSE procedures.
