Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Facilities Management Project Manager for HMP Northumberland, NE65 9XG. The role is a 24 month FTC with a salary of up to £55,000 per annum plus Sodexo benefits.

Lead a portfolio of infrastructure projects, ensuring safe delivery on time and within budget. You'll coordinate subcontractors, enforce CDM/regulations, and maintain asset records, reporting progress to the Head of Client Infrastructure Projects.

Qualifications

• Experience managing infrastructure or construction projects within a Facilities Management environment.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, project governance and statutory compliance.
• Good knowledge of current UK Building Regulations.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
• Recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 , APMP or equivalent.
• IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification, with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience delivering projects to budget and programme.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to identify and manage project risks.
• Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to learn CAFM systems (Maximo), Building Management Systems (BMS) and other software.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a complex operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day delivery of infrastructure projects across HMP Northumberland through specialist subcontractors.
• Support lifecycle replacement, capital expenditure and client‑led business improvement projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with requirements.
• Oversee contractor performance and compliance with quality, programme and health & safety standards.
• Carry out quality inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records of new infrastructure assets and update preventative maintenance schedules.
• Monitor and report progress, risks and performance using MS Office.
• Manage contractor relationships and onboarding through Sodexo's vendor process.
• Support compliance with CDM Regulations, building regulations, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Promote a positive safety culture and safe systems of work.
• Build effective relationships with prison stakeholders and wider FM team.
• Deputise for Head of Client Infrastructure Projects when required.
