King Edward’s School, Bath is seeking a reliable Site Operative to join the Estates and Facilities team in Bath. You will help with site upkeep, security, event setup and coordinating facility hires while ensuring a safe, tidy environment for pupils and staff.

The role involves practical tasks, helping with cleaning, general maintenance and moving equipment as required. A flexible, team-focused approach and awareness of safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Practical, reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Friendly, helpful and approachable manner.
• Positive can do attitude and willingness to support a varied range of tasks.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks, including moving furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff, pupils, visitors and contractors.
• Good awareness of health and safety, including the ability to identify and report hazards.
• Basic IT skills.
• Full, clean driving licence would be advantageous, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee use of school facilities, including external hires and bookings.
• Support the set-up and clear-down of School events and activities.
• Help secure the School site by locking buildings, closing windows and switching off lights.
• Carry out general caretaking, cleaning and routine maintenance tasks.
• Keep external areas tidy and ensure waste and recycling is managed appropriately.
• Transport items and equipment around and between School sites.
• Report faults, hazards or health and safety concerns promptly.
