Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Facilities Engineer for an on-site role in Newport, South Wales. You will coordinate planned facilities activity, quickly resolve plant or building issues, and ensure safe contractor access with proper controls before work starts.

You will also manage outsourced technical resources and support evolving site demands. As you gain facility knowledge, you can lead smaller projects such as refurbishments and redesigns, progressing toward increasingly sophisticated

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has a strong engineering or facilities background and practical contractor management experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction or similar regulated environments is preferred.
• Ability to review contractor scope, ensure safety controls, and secure safe completion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planned facilities activity and respond to plant or building issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure external contractors can access site safely and that controls are in place before work begins.
• Coordinate outsourced technical resources and adjust support to site demands.
• Develop smaller engineering projects, refurbishments, and facility improvements over time.
• Contribute to larger capital projects within a highly technical manufacturing environment.
