Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. seeks an experienced Facilities Engineer to deliver critical FM services at our Newport site. You will manage contractors, create permit-to-work and risk statements, and coordinate scopes of work for tenders while controlling budgets and reporting.

The role requires strong leadership to prioritise tasks and liaise with multiple departments in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and maintain a Safe System of Work,

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship with formal craft qualification.
• HNC/ HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• NEBOSH General Health and Safety Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Sub-Contractors undertaking routine and emergency tasks.
• Create Permit to Work forms.
• Validate Risk and Method Statements.
• Create Scope of Works for quotation/tender processes.
• Budget and Expense management control and reporting.
• Prioritise work schedules to minimise downtime and maximise resources.
• Liaise with other support Departments and functions.
• Manage Facilities Work Request process.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve priority conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Maintain Safe System of Work across Facilities activities.

Reporting to the Facilities Projects and Site Services Manager this is an active role delivering critical Facilities Management Services across the clients Newport site.

Facilities Management activities are the foundation on which Manufacturing and other support Departments rely to perform their respective duties in a lean, efficient and safe manner.

Job Description:

• Management of Sub- Contractors undertaking routine and emergency tasks.
• Creation of Permit to work forms.
• Validation of Risk and Method Statements.
• Creation of Scope of works for quotation/ tender processes.
• Budget and Expense management control and reporting.
• Ability to efficiently prioritise work schedules, minimising downtime and maximising resources.
• Ability to confidently liaise with other support Departments and functions.
• Manage and control ‘Facilities Work Request’ (ad -Hoc facilities requests) process.
• Manage cross-functional teams to ensure priority conflicts are resolved effectively.
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
• Manage health and safety requirements, clearly demonstrating a ‘Safe System of Work’ in

line with all Facilities Management activities.

Requirements Education and Experience:

• Time served apprenticeship with formal craft qualification.
• HNC/ HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, project) experience essential.
• NEBOSH General Health and Safety Certificate.
• Experience in a dynamic Manufacturing / Industrial environment preferred.

• Capable of establishing and maintaining good contractor/ supplier relationships.
• Strong engineering background with methodical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to act and react to ever changing business demands in a focussed and efficient manner without loss of focus.
• Understanding of Cleanroom working principles.
• Experience of central facilities plant and equipment.
• Experience of plant & equipment commissioning and decommissioning.
