Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting for a Facilities Officer to join a Charity on a permanent basis. The role is based in Surrey with 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and a salary in the mid-£40k range.

You will support the Property & Estates Manager in day-to-day operation and management of houses and facilities, coordinate contractors, oversee repairs, and ensure safety, compliance and value for money across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience working within facilities management and property maintenance.
• Ability to coordinate and monitor contractors and ensure works are completed to an appropriate standard.
• Experience of carrying out inspections, identifying defects and maintaining accurate records.
• Understanding of building maintenance programmes and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of health and safety, fire safety, COSHH and related building safety.
• A clean driving licence with access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live independently by enabling access to Charities amenities and operating safety systems.
• Carry out routine inspections of homes and grounds, identify maintenance needs and safety risks.
• Carry out minor repairs and caretaking tasks as required.
• Coordinate access and monitor third‑party contractors for works.
• Oversee responsive repairs from report to completion and update records.
• Assist with annual maintenance planning to meet schedules and budgets.
• Support building compliance requirements including fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos and electrical safety.
• Monitor building services performance and energy use, identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain stock, tools and PPE for maintenance duties and reorder as needed.
• Ensure communal and external areas are kept safe and clean.
