Job description

Facilities Assistant - Domestics (Part-Time)

Vacancy: Part-Time Facilities Assistant - Domestic (Floor person with use of machinery) 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday, hours: 16:00 to 19:00)

£9446 per annum (£12.08 per hour)

The successful candidate will work flexibly across various wards and departmental teams, becoming an integral part of the Facilities Department.

The role involves performing cleaning duties, including operating floor cleaning machinery, in all areas of our busy Healthcare premises, following standards set by the National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS.

Previous cleaning and goods experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. Please provide FULL details of any relevant experience on your application form to assist with shortlisting. Incomplete fields will not be scored.

Main duties of the job

We seek a motivated individual to join the Facilities team, performing cleaning duties across the premises to meet NHS cleanliness standards.

  1. Use of cleaning equipment.
  2. Adhere to policies on food hygiene, HACCP, personal hygiene, and cleaning procedures.
  3. Clean surfaces to remove dust and debris.
  4. Replace and clean curtains and blinds as needed.
  5. Clean and mop floors daily.
  6. Empty, clean, and refill waste bins, sealing waste bags and disposing of waste properly.
  7. Clean internal glass and ledges.
  8. Maintain sanitary areas.
  9. Keep equipment clean and functional.
  10. Respect patient privacy and dignity during duties.
  11. Clean beds and furniture.
  12. Be flexible in approach.
  13. Store items correctly.
  14. Manage water jugs and assist with food and beverage preparation and service.
  15. Ensure food presentation, portion control, temperature, and quality standards.
  16. Maintain security at all times.
  17. Complete departmental paperwork as required.
  18. Support departmental goods.

Salary: £24,169 per year, pro-rated to £9446 for 15 hours/week.
