Job summary

Forest Holidays at Keldy Forest is seeking a Facilities Assistant to keep cabins in top condition and ensure a memorable stay for guests. You will maintain décor, carry out repairs, and support the operations team in daily tasks, including deliveries and changeovers.

We value a can-do attitude, teamwork, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather. A driving licence is required for the role.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of using tools, fixing machinery and decorating is desirable.
  • Ability to respond to issues promptly with clear guest communication.
  • Cabins are audited regularly to maintain high standards.

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work to keep cabins in good working order.
  • Complete basic decorating and upkeep to maintain high cabin appearance.
  • Respond quickly to maintenance issues using basic tools.
  • Pay attention to detail and complete daily tasks timely and competently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and follow brand standards.
  • Assist across the location, e.g. delivering items to cabins and changeovers.

  • Location: Keldy (North Yorkshire)
  • Salary: £12.71 per hour
  • Working Hours: Full-time, 38 hours.
  • Days of Work: 2 week rolling rota, includes alternate weekends.
  • A valid driving licence is required for this role.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Assistant to join our lovely team at Keldy.

Be part of creating memorable escapes in one of North Yorkshire’s most peaceful forest settings. Develop your skills while ensuring our cabins are beautifully prepared for every guest.

Our cabins at Keldy are deep in the forest; some are just visible between the trees and others enjoy an outlook onto grassy, sunlit glades. Here, surrounded by nature, you can truly relax.

About the Facilities Assistant role:

As Facilities Assistant, you will ensure our cabins are in good working order with well-maintained décor. You will complete general maintenance tasks, so a basic knowledge of using tools, fixing machinery, and decorating is desirable. You will respond to issues promptly and the ability to solve these issues whilst maintaining excellent communication with the guest is essential.

Our Facilities Assistant will ensure every cabin is regularly audited to keep standards high. Working in the Operations Team you will also assist across the location as and when required, for example delivering items ordered from the Retreat to cabins or emptying bins on a changeover day.

You’ll take pride in delivering exceptional customer service and are happy to work with our brand standards, ensuring every guest experience that Forest Feeling the moment they step into their cabin.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work to keep cabins in good working order and well-presented.
  • Complete basic decorating and upkeep tasks to maintain high standards of cabin appearance.
  • Respond quickly to maintenance issues and resolve them where possible, using basic tools and repair skills.
  • Paying attention to the little details and delivering daily tasks in a timely and competent manner.
  • Taking pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Following brand standards to ensure every guest experiences the Forest Feeling from the moment they step into their cabin.
What Are We Looking For?

Our ideal Facilities Assistant will be a dynamic individual who applies a can-do attitude to solve any issues that may arise on location. You will be a team player, capable of building good working relationships with colleagues. A love for the outdoors is essential as these tasks need completing rain or shine every day of the year.

We’re looking for someone with:
  • A valid, UK driving licence required due to the nature of the role
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Great attention to detail, ensuring high cleanliness standards are met.
  • Some previous experience in a similar role.
  • A willingness to work outdoors in a natural setting, whatever the weather.

Pay Rates for Aged 16 and 17:
  • 16 years: £8.00 per hour
  • 17 years: £10.85 per hour
