Job summary

Word360 Language Services is seeking skilled interpreters for face-to-face language support across health and social care settings. This full-time on-site role covers assignments with NHS, councils, charities, and private organisations, with travel to Berkshire, Bristol, Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

Ideal candidates will have excellent English and another language, strong organization, professionalism and DBS clearance, plus eligibility for self-employment in the UK.

Please note: This role is advertised to interpreters based in and around Swindon; however, there are currently no face-to-face clients located within Swindon itself. Assignments are available across Berkshire, Bristol and Gloucestershire, and applicants must be willing to travel to these surrounding areas for bookings.

What you'll be doing

As a face-to-face interpreter, you will deliver vital language interpretation services to a range of organisations, particularly within the Health and Social Care sectors.

Your assignments may include supporting individuals accessing services through the NHS, local councils, charities, and private businesses.

You will play a key role in breaking down communication barriers, ensuring that every person has access to the services and support they need.

Languages we are recruiting for include, but are not limited to:

Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Czech, Dari, Farsi, Farsi (Western Persian), Gujarati, Hungarian, Italian, Kurdish, Kurdish-Bahdini, Lithuanian, Mandarin, Nepalese, Oromo, Pashto, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.

Additionally, we welcome British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters – both Registered Sign Language Interpreters (RSLI) and Trainee Sign Language Interpreters (TSLI) are encouraged to apply.

What we're looking for Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Excellent communication skills in both English and additional language
• Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple assignments
• Professionalism and enthusiasm, with a respectful and empathetic approach
• Confidence interpreting across various environments (medical, social care, and community-based settings)
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child and Adult Workforce, with both Barred Lists)
• If you do not already hold one, we can assist you in completing your DBS application
• Eligibility for self-employment in the UK
