Job summary

Word360 is seeking face-to-face interpreters to provide vital language services across NHS, local councils, charities, and private firms in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

This self-employed role requires regular travel to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester and other towns; you will support individuals accessing services with empathy, professionalism, and DBS clearance.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication in English and additional language.
  • Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple assignments.
  • Professionalism and enthusiasm, with a respectful and empathetic approach.
  • Confidence interpreting across medical, social care and community settings.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child and Adult Workforce, with Barred Lists).

About The Role

What you'll be doing

As a face-to-face interpreter, you will deliver vital language interpretation services to a range of organisations, particularly within the Health and Social Care sectors. Your assignments may include supporting individuals accessing services through the NHS, local councils, charities, and private businesses.

You will play a key role in breaking down communication barriers, ensuring that every person has access to the services and support they need.

Please note: This role involves regular travel within and around the Gloucestershire region. Locations: Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Hereford, Stroud, Banbury, Swindon, Quedgeley.

Additionally, we welcome British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters — both Registered Sign Language Interpreters (RSLI) and Trainee Sign Language Interpreters (TSLI) are encouraged to apply.

What we’re looking for
Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and additionallanguage
  • Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple assignments
  • Professionalism and enthusiasm, with a respectful and empathetic approach
  • Confidence interpreting across various environments (medical, social care, and community-based settings)
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate(Child and Adult Workforce, with both Barred Lists) If you do not already hold one, we can assist you in completing your DBS application
  • Eligibility for self-employment in the UK
