Job summary

Absolute Interpreting and Translations Ltd in Exeter is seeking professional interpreters to join our growing team. You will provide on-site language support across Devon and Exeter, helping people access essential services.

We welcome fluent speakers of Kurdish, Polish, Farsi, Dari, Romanian, Lithuanian, Russian or Ukrainian. Training is provided, and you can work flexibly on a freelance basis with Enhanced DBS checks as part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and one of the listed languages (Kurdish, Polish, Farsi, Dari, Romanian, Lithuanian, Russian, Ukrainian).
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Professional, reliable and respectful approach.
• Eligibility to work in the UK as self-employed/freelance.
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpreting across Devon and Exeter.
• Support NHS, healthcare, social care, local authorities and community services.
• Work on a flexible freelance basis with training provided.

We are currently looking for interpreters fluent in:

Kurdish, Polish, Farsi, Dari, Romanian, Lithuanian, Russian, Ukrainian

As an interpreter, you will help individuals communicate effectively and access important services. Assignments may include NHS and healthcare, medical, social care, local authorities, community services.

What we're looking for

• Fluency in English and one of the languages listed above
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Professional, reliable and respectful approach
• Good concentration and attention to detail
• Previous interpreting experience is an advantage, but not essential
• Training is provided for suitable candidates who are new to professional interpreting
• Enhanced DBS required
• Eligibility to work on a self-employed/freelance basis in the UK
