Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is helping a Wembley-based specialist façade contractor recruit a Cladding Designer. The role targets candidates with 4–5 years’ cladding/façade experience and a strong track record in producing detailed construction drawings and technical layouts.

You’ll design and develop cladding packages from concept through to construction, collaborating with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure buildable, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in cladding/façade design and related industries.
• Strong understanding of cladding systems and façade construction.
• Experience producing detailed technical and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of how façades are installed on site.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and convert them into construction drawings.
• Experience collaborating with project managers, engineers, and site teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with CAD/design software and related tools.

The Opportunity

I am currently working with an established specialist façade and cladding contractor that is looking to strengthen its design team with an experienced Cladding Designer.

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with around 4–5 years' experience within the cladding industry, ideally gained working for a contractor, who is looking to take the next step in their career and work on a variety of technically challenging façade projects.

You will be involved in the design and technical development of cladding packages from initial concept through to construction, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients.

As a Cladding Designer, you will be responsible for:

• Producing detailed cladding and façade design drawings for construction.
• Developing designs from architectural information through to detailed fabrication and installation drawings.
• Working across a range of cladding and façade systems.
• Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and project information.
• Producing detailed technical drawings, sections, elevations and details.
• Working closely with project and site teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
• Identifying and resolving technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supporting the coordination of cladding packages and ensuring designs meet project requirements.
• Making amendments to drawings in response to technical queries and site requirements.
• Contributing to the delivery of projects from design stage through to completion.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• 4–5 years' experience within the cladding/façade industry.
• Strong understanding of cladding systems and façade construction.
• Experience producing detailed technical and construction drawings.
• Good knowledge of how façade and cladding systems are installed on site.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop them into detailed construction information.
• Experience working collaboratively with project managers, engineers and site teams.
• Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in relevant CAD/design software.
• A practical understanding of buildability and construction sequencing.

The Opportunity
