Job summary

Purosearch is recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist contractor in the building envelope and façade sector for a Design Manager role in Crawley.

You will own the design process from concept to construction, coordinating design teams, consultants and suppliers to ensure designs are technically compliant, commercially viable and delivered to programme. This is an excellent opportunity for progression within a growing specialist contractor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Design Manager / Senior Designer / Design Coordinator role within the building envelope, façade or construction sector.
• Strong technical understanding of façade/building envelope systems.
• Experience managing design packages from concept through to construction.
• Ability to interpret and review technical drawings and specifications.
• Solid knowledge of UK standards/regulations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proactive with attention to technical detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process across multiple building envelope projects.
• Coordinate design teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and design information.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations, standards and requirements.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables and submissions.
• Identify and resolve design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support pre-construction and tender activities when required.
• Work with Commercial and Project teams on design changes and costs.
• Attend design, client and project meetings and maintain stakeholder relationships.
