Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our security systems fabrication team across the UK. You will read technical drawings and weld on bespoke metalwork for industrial structures.

This role requires 2+ years fabrication experience, proficiency in MIG and MMA welding, and the ability to travel to sites with a valid driving licence. A CSCS card and safety consciousness are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold CSCS card.
• Must have a valid driving licence.
• At least 2 years' experience of fabrication from interpreting drawings to final finished product working on bespoke and architectural metalwork.
• Experience with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Ability to weld MIG and MMA for site work.
• Able to work from drawings to finished product without supervision.
• Demonstrated estimating skills.
• Good knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding methods.
• Familiar with subcontracting procedures and practices.
• Focus on Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication / welding of industrial structures from technical drawings.
• Cutting, bending and welding of products.
• Finishing and quality inspection.
• Workshop Health & Safety.
• Complete Quality Control and Test Inspection documents for the project on planned timescales.
• Follow best practices for material sustainability to reduce waste and costs.
• Ensure installed services and equipment comply with contract documents.
• Record and report defective materials and workmanship that do not meet the works specification.
• Determine and assess the need for additional staff and resources.
• Report changes in project scope and assist in contingency planning.
• Adhere to best practices and tools for project execution and management.
• Some travel may be required for installation phase.
