Job summary

Mitie invites an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our Coventry manufacturing team. You will read drawings, fabricate structural steelwork, pipework, and assemble components for prefabricated modular solutions.

The role requires MIG, TIG and MMA welding, with 3+ years in fabrication, and a strong focus on safety and quality. You will work on diverse projects across the UK and contribute to on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Read, understand and interpret fabrication, general and welding drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG and MMA welding processes.
• Experience fabricating and welding structural steelwork and pipework.
• Ability to measure, mark out, cut, fit, assemble and weld with precision.
• Strong focus on quality, safety and productivity in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometric drawings and welding specs.
• Measure, mark out, cut, prepare and assemble steelwork and pipework from raw materials.
• Carry out MIG, TIG and MMA welding to a high standard while complying with quality requirements.
• Manufacture pipe spools, skid assemblies, support steelwork and plantrooms on schedule.
• Fit, tack and assemble components for final welding with correct tolerances.
• Operate workshop machinery, tools safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Conduct self-inspections and quality checks against drawings and welding standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment and contribute to site safety initiatives.
• Work independently and with colleagues to deliver fabrication solutions on multiple projects.
• Demonstrate commitment to workmanship, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
