Job summary

DATS Recruitment Ltd seeks a Fabricator / Welder for a Bolton-based client on a permanent staff basis. The role is full-time over 4 days (37 hours) with shifts from 06:30 to 16:15 or 07:00 to 16:45. The hourly rate is £18.72, rising to £19.22 after probation.

Fabrication, welding and component assembly of doors in carbon and stainless steels, reading drawings and achieving tight tolerances. Overhead crane experience is required and attendance at safety and quality checks is expected.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication/ welding and assembly of doors and related parts in carbon and stainless steel.

• Support continuous development of skills and use automated technologies where applicable.

Job description

We are seeking a Fabricator / Welder to support a client based in Bolton on a permanent staff basis.

This will be working full time hours across 4 days per week: 37 hours total. Typical Hours are 06.30 am – 4.15 pm or later shift at 07.00 am – 4.45 pm. An hourly rate os £18.72 per hour is in effect rising to £19.22 after probationary period. This is a permanent role with additional staff benefits including life assurance and healthcare.

The client works in the industrial and manufacturing sector supporting clients across a range of niche industries supplying steel based products. A description is given below -

Job Description

Fabrication, welding and component assembly of doors, including installation in test rig, to required standards.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Fabrication/assembly of doors and related parts/assemblies in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel, and other materials as required.
• Working to strict Inspection and Test Plans, under close supervision, when required.
• Achieve coded welding status as required.
• Perform welding operations as and when required.
• Using overhead crane.
• Using FLT (when trained to do so).
• All work produced is to be capable of passing UT, MPI, other NDT and visual inspection
• Grinding, Welding, Polishing, Drilling, hardware assembly and fitting.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret welding requirements.
• May be required to undertake and pass a security background check.
• Assembly of door hardware and door installation.
• Ability to work to safe standard, and compliance with Company Health and Safety requirements.
• Fabrication of specialised/engineered doors and related products to Company Standards.
• Minimisation of quality defects.
• Minimisation of H&S incidents/accidents.
• Continuous development of skills and experience, including automated technologies.
• Achievement of time, quality and delivery targets.
• Any other ad hoc duties as may be required, commensurate with the grade of the post.

Essential

• The successful candidate will demonstrate a formal level of training
• Certification for overhead crane use

Desirable

• Knowledge of mechanised welding processes
