Job summary

Fusion People Ltd in London Acton is seeking a skilled Workshop Fabricator Welder to join its metalwork team. You will interpret engineering drawings, mark out, cut, form, and assemble stairs, balustrades, and structural elements with precision.

The role requires minimum 5 years' experience, MIG welding expertise, and ability to read CAD drawings. Pay £18-£22 per hour PAYE, with umbrella options; opportunities to work on premium architectural projects in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven Fabricator Welder experience in architectural, structural, or bespoke metalwork sectors.
• Proficient MIG welding with Mild Steel.
• Ability to confidently read CAD drawings and cutting lists.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex engineering/architectural drawings to mark out, cut, form and assemble components for stairs, landings, balconies and balustrades.
• Perform welding to achieve flawless finishes on visible structural and decorative elements.
• Handle materials (primarily Mild Steel) safely in the workshop.
• Ensure fabricated items meet specifications, tolerances and workshop safety standards.

Our client, is a leading London-based steel fabrication company specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of premium Architectural & Structural features, including Staircases, Balconies, and Balustrades as well as heavy Beams and Columns.

We are currently seeking highly skilled and experienced Workshop Fabricator Welders to join their dedicated team.

The Role:

Based in our workshop, you will be responsible for:

• Precision Fabrication: Interpreting complex engineering and architectural drawings to accurately mark out, cut, form, and assemble components for staircases, landings, balconies, and balustrades.
• High-Quality Welding: Performing welding processes to achieve flawless finishes on visible structural and decorative elements.
• Material Handling: Working proficiently with a variety of materials, primarily Mild Steel
• Quality Control: Ensuring all fabricated items adhere strictly to specifications, engineering tolerances, and workshop safety standards.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Fabricator Welder, ideally within the architectural, structural, or bespoke metalwork sectors.
• Welding Proficiency: Expert ability in MIG (Mild Steel)
• Coded Status: Preference will be given to candidates holding current or recently expired Coded Welding (IMIG) certification
• Technical Literacy: Ability to confidently read and work from detailed CAD drawings and cutting lists.
• £18p/h - £22p/h PAYE Umbrella (equivalent to £13.55p/h - £16.56p/h PAYE direct)
